This session addressed managing through what we call, “The Big Shift.” We dove into the major changes that have impacted the professional services business in the last few years, and how leaders of those firms have reshaped their offerings and client experience to rekindle revenue and profit growth.
Our panelists included Bob Dean, Director, Americas Profiling Online and certified professional of “The Experience Economy”, Timothy McHugh, Sr. Analyst, William Blair & Company , expert on the Professional Service marketplace, Bill Welter, Managing Director, Adaptive Strategies, Inc. and co-author of "Rethink, Reinvent, Reposition: 12 Strategies to Move Over Your Business," and Bill Hickman, Chief Growth Officer, Leo Burnett to examine recent lessons and tactics in change, resiliency, creativity as they impact the client experience and growth in professional services firms. About the Panelists: Bob Dean combines business experience with a passion for designing, developing, and delivering breakthrough learning and talent development experiences and driving business impact. He has spent the last decade aligning business vision and strategy with learning and development for some of the leading professional services firms like Heidrick & Struggles and Grant Thornton. Bill Hickman is the Chief Growth Officer of Leo Burnett, one of the world’s leading marketing communications agencies. Bill has over 20 years experience successfully building brands, reputations, profits and companies by selling belief in what is possible and inspiring people to think bigger, work more collaboratively and act with courage. He’s been with Leo Burnett since 2002 in a variety of client-leadership roles in numerous markets including Thailand, Detroit and Chicago. Timothy McHugh is a business services analyst specializing in the consulting, employer services, and staffing sectors. Prior to joining William Blair & Company he was a senior research analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He was named the No. 1 earnings-estimator in professional services for 2008 in the Financial Times/StarMine "World's Top Analysts" listing. Bill Welter is a consulting-educator who helps organizations succeed by helping managers excel and prepare for their tomorrows. He brings over 40 years of experience spanning four separate careers: military, engineering, consulting and education. He is the managing director of Adaptive Strategies, Inc. and also a Fellow in Executive Education at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He is an accomplished author and the lead co-author of "The Prepared Mind of a Leader: Eight Skills Leaders Use to Innovate, Make Decisions, and Solve Problems", "MindLab: A Place to Think" and "Rethink, Reinvent, Reposition: 12 Strategies to Move Over Your Business."
